The Oscar's Red Carpet 2013

There were some great dresses on the Red Carpet today. Here are some of my favorites!

Naomi Watts in Giorgio Armani "Prive" ~LOVE the neckline!

Octavia Spencer in a Tadashi Shoji dress and an Edie Parker clutch. ~Looks a little like a wedding dress, but very flattering on her!

Amanda Seyfried in an Alexander McQueen gown. ~The lace & keyhole neckline are great!

Daniel Day-Lewis wore Domenico Vacca suit. ~I usually don't pay attention to the men's red carpet fashions  because it's black suit after black suit. Love the navy & classic bow tie.

Last but not least, Salma Hayek wore Alexander McQueen. ~By far, my favorite! I love the velvet trend and the sweet heart neckline with gold embellishments was amazing!

Style Icon Audrey Hepburn

I would like to dedicate this entire post for "The Most Interesting Woman in the World." I have looked up to Audrey Hepburn for quite a while now. She's such an inspiration, a very talented woman. Here's a little bit about her:

I admire Audrey for her not- so prefect looks. She stood out- not necessarily in a bad way- in the 1960's. Picture the ideal actress in your mind: blonde hair, flawless skin, fat lips, big breasts, MARILYN MONROE ANYONE? Audrey was not pictured as 'sexy,' but beautiful, humble and a role model to a lot of females. She wasn't perfect however, she had a rough childhood.
Audrey was born as Audrey Kathleen Ruston on May 4, 1929 in Ixelles, Belgium. She grew up in Brussels during World War II. Her father abandoned her family in 1935.
During the wartime, she suffered from malnutrition and depression.
Audrey went to a ballet school in London and danced to raise money for the Dutch resistance. She later began a modeling career in London. In 1948, a producer discovered her and got her a role in Dutch in Seven Lessons.

Audrey won her first Oscar (Best Actress) for Roman Holiday in 1953.
Funny Face (1957) was a hit and so was Sabrina (1954): which landed her an Academy Nomination.
She often worked side by side with Edith Head, a famous costume designer.
(Edith is on the left. Recognize the sleek black hair & round glasses? Watch The Incredibles!)
She also traveled to countries in poverty while she volunteered at UNICEF. She walked hand in hand with children who also suffered from starvation and nearly lost all hope. She might as well have invented the rainbow.

All in all, Audrey Hepburn was just this awesome person who people still look up to even after her death. She proved if you have confidence in your self and try to learn to accept your body (I said try), you can be successful and follow your dreams? I don't know. I LOVE YOU AUDREY <3

GRAMMY'S 2013

I rarely watch award shows, but I saw some celeb's dresses and had to blog about it :) Here are some of my faves:

Solange Knowles:
She rocked this beautiful emerald color  Ralph & Russo Couture gown. The shoulder detail and pointy pumps were great! I like how she kept her face & hair natural ~ BEAUTIFUL!

Carrie Underwood:
Her dress wasn't the best, but she looked fabulous! Her accessorizing,  makeup & hair were perfect!

Beyonce:
She went for a classic black & white duo, but wearing separates  made her stand out! I love the hint of checkerboard  print. Reminds me of Spring/Summer Louis Vuitton...
Rihanna was by far my favorite!
The dress was designed  by Azzedine Alaia (I'm not familiar with that designer). The red gown was her right color and draped beautifully on her body. And her hair... GORGEOUS! I really like how she (or rather, her stylist) polished her up a bit and didn't send her out in black or grunge-y garments.

OOTD: Story Time

Once upon a time, about 3:45, there lived a princess named Courtney. She had frizzy brown hair that was so unruly, she was forced to take a hair elastic to it. With a wave of her hand, she put her hair into a ponytail. The end.
